Job summary

Cardinal Health Sonexus Health is seeking a remote Case Manager to support patient access to therapy through reimbursement services and HIPAA-compliant processes. The role guides providers through benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and coverage steps to enable timely therapy.

Applicants typically have 3–6 years in related fields, with strong communication and organizational skills, and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-6 years experience in related field preferred.
• 1-2 years experience conducting and documenting patient health insurance benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and appeals, preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercially insured payer common practices and policies, preferred.
• Critical and creative thinking, preferred.
• Knowledge of the Health Insurance Market Place and the Affordable Care Act, preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical/Pharmacy billing and coding is preferred.
• Important to have a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Guide healthcare providers through the patient journey to therapy in line with program rules.
• Manage patient referral intake and investigate health insurance benefits.
• Initiate prior authorizations and step therapy reviews with payers and pharmacies.
• Follow up with payers and organizations to facilitate timely coverage and delivery.
