Job summary

Amery Hospital & Clinic is seeking a Patient Access Representative to support admissions, check-in, registration and scheduling. You will assist patients and respond to inquiries by phone, email or fax, following CMP guidelines.

Primary duties include bedside registration in ER or inpatient, printing wrist bands and labels, posting co-pays, and guiding patients to follow-up appointments. Strong communication and basic MS Office skills are required; EPIC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year experience in a hospital or medical clinic setting or equivalent.
• Experience in a customer service setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with Microsoft products, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in admissions, check-in, registration and scheduling functions.
• Address inquiries via telephone, email or fax.
• Print wrist bands and apply per protocol; print patient labels as needed.
• Perform bedside registration in ER or inpatient unit.
• Receive and enter patient forms dropped off for completion; route forms accordingly.
• Collect and post patient co-pays/deductibles/balances.
• Assist patients with follow-up appointments at check out.
