The Patient Access Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of registration and scheduling operations across the hospital and clinic. This position oversees clinic receptionists and the hospital clerk while ensuring accurate registration, efficient scheduling, and a positive patient experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervise clinic receptionists and hospital clerk, including scheduling, performance management, and staffing
- Oversee registration processes across clinic, inpatient, emergency department, and outpatient services
- Ensure accurate patient registration and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure front-end registration accuracy to support clean claims, reduce denials, and improve overall revenue cycle performance
- Lead and support scheduling operations, including provider templates and patient access
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle to improve registration accuracy and reduce denials
- Monitor Epic scheduling and registration functions, including system optimization and staff training
- Support upfront collections, estimates, and insurance-related processes
- Assist with budgeting, reporting, and operational metrics
- Partner with clinic and hospital leadership to improve workflow and patient access
- Address operational issues and support continuous process improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred
- Prior experience in healthcare registration, scheduling, or revenue cycle preferred
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of insurance processes and patient access workflows
