Job summary

Alopex Powered by ShiFox is seeking a Patient Access & Eligibility Specialist to support patient intake, verify insurance coverage, and determine eligibility for CCM, RPM, and other virtual care services.

The role acts as the front door to the care management program, handling patient calls, documenting interactions in EMR systems, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant, compassionate service across multiple platforms.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in healthcare administration or patient access.
• Experience verifying health insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Familiarity with CCM/RPM or population health programs preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems.
• Strong technical proficiency and ability to learn new healthcare platforms quickly.
• Experience handling patient phone calls in a healthcare environment.
• Excellent verbal communication and patient engagement skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming patient calls with professional, courteous assistance.
• Respond to inquiries about care management programs and services.
• Manage voicemail systems and route to appropriate staff.
• Coordinate call routing to Care Coordinators and Enrollment Specialists.
• Ensure timely and accurate patient communications for follow-up.
• Document all patient communications in the care management platform.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance in all interactions.
