Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a part-time Marine Engineer, Naval Architect, or related engineer to manage the USNS Waters program.

The role involves reviewing technical specifications for vessel repairs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and implementing best practices across the enterprise. The position is remote, about 30 hours per week, with routine travel to Port Canaveral, Florida and other CONUS locations.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with DoD SECRET clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain clearance).
• Minimum five years of experience in a similar maritime role.
• Knowledge of latest maritime regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to review and approve technical specifications for vessel repairs and modifications.

Responsibilities

• Review technical specifications for vessel repairs and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Communicate with sponsor program managers, MSC Port Engineers, and contractors to coordinate work.
• Implement 'best practices' across the enterprise and ensure safe, efficient execution.
