Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a part-time Marine Engineer, Naval Architect, or related field professional to oversee vessel repairs and modifications for the USNS Waters.

The engineer will review specifications, ensure compliance with industry standards, and promote best practices across SPA’s Surety Programs Group. The role requires travel to Port Canaveral and other CONUS locations, DoD clearance (or ability to obtain), and a BS in Marine Engineering or Naval

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel to Port Canaveral, FL and other CONUS locations.
  • DoD SECRET clearance (or ability to obtain) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review technical specifications for vessel repairs and modifications for compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement best practices across the enterprise and ensure safe, efficient work execution.
  • Communicate with sponsor program managers, Military Sealift Command Port Engineers, and contractors to coordinate work.
