Job summary

Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants is seeking a part‑time Government Affairs Specialist for the 2027 Texas Legislative Session. You will assist the Government Affairs team in managing legislative tracking, outreach, and communications projects, working to advance TXCPA's agenda with pace and accuracy.

You will help organize Advocacy Day visits, support grassroots programs, and coordinate PAC and legislative communications, while collaborating with departments to maximize impact during

Qualifications

• Experience in state government or with a statewide trade association in legislative/advocacy roles.
• Familiarity with bill tracking and advocacy platforms Telicon, TLIS, and VoterVoice.
• Experience with PAC fundraising and advocacy communications.
• Experience with legislative communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Database management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in tracking legislation and coordinating bill analysis under the Director of Government Affairs.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate legislative visits to the Capitol for Advocacy Day.
• Support Key Persons Program communications during session.
• Collaborate on a 2027 legislative and PAC communications plan with multiple outreach tactics.
• Coordinate Calls to Action for state and national issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
