Base Power seeks a Government Relations Specialist for Texas to lead state affairs and represent the company in the legislature and regulatory bodies. You will shape our Texas strategy, build relationships with lawmakers, and coordinate with the legal and policy teams.

The role emphasizes high ownership, coalition building, and timely monitoring of session activities, rulemakings, and policy developments affecting distributed energy resources in Texas.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of government affairs or lobbying experience in Texas.
• Deep knowledge of Texas legislature and PUCT process.
• Experience building coalitions and advocating policy changes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own Base Power's Texas government-relations strategy and priorities.
• Monitor Texas Capitol and PUCT activities; translate into action items.
• Track legislation and rulemakings across Texas.
• Draft legislation, testimony, letters; manage external lobbyists and partners.
• Represent Base at Capitol hearings and industry forums.
• Develop briefing materials and policy papers to position Base.
