Job summary

An indie games publisher in the United States is seeking its first Financial Controller for a hands‑on, part‑time role. You will own the full operational finance cycle, from invoices to forecasts, and drive scalable processes.

Reporting to the co-founders, you’ll manage developer payments, revenue shares, month‑end close, and liaise with external accountants and auditors. Fully remote with a high degree of ownership.

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting experience: AP, accruals, bank reconciliation, month-end close.
• Knowledge of publishing finance: royalties, revenue shares, recoupment.
• Cash-flow forecasting and financial modeling with variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets for models and reporting.
• Experience with Xero or similar and building invoice workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the invoice process: intake, categorization, approval tracking, and timely payment.
• Manage developer payments, revenue-share and recoupment calculations, and partner reporting.
• Lead the month-end close, including bank reconciliation, payment verification and record keeping.
• Maintain and improve cash-flow and financial forecasts.
• Develop management reporting, dashboards, financial controls and scalable accounting policies.
• Maintain the bookkeeping system (Xero or similar) and coordinate with external accountants.
