Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a part-time Accounting Associate to support education and training programs within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. This 50% FTE role focuses on accounting tasks, contract management, and monthly reporting while ensuring compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with two years’ work experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
• Ability to operate computerized office applications and accounting systems.
• Clear communication with internal audiences and client groups.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, gather, and compile accounting transactions for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
• Review transactions, support documents, journal postings for accuracy and compliance; monitor clearing items.
• Compile, maintain, and review data and daily reports; generate standardized financial reports.
• Resolve inquiries and escalate issues as needed.
• Respond to inquiries from client groups.
• May manage p-card, travel cards and reimbursements; may establish accounts in financial systems and prepare invoices.
• Participate in new initiatives, such as user testing.
• Maintain files and procedures; ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
