Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Finance is seeking a Parking Summons Case Advocate to assist the public with parking and camera summons issues, conduct research, and provide effective advocacy and resolution.

Reporting to the Taxpayer Advocate, the role involves interviewing respondents, explaining procedures, advising on appeal rights, and coordinating with DOF offices and elected officials to resolve complex cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• High school diploma with six years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to complaints and inquiries related to parking summonses and camera violations.
• Provide case advocacy and resolution for the public in disputes.
• Research systemic issues and liaise with DOF business units to address complex cases.
• Maintain a case management system and assist in periodic reports.
