Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC, renewed annually
• 2+ years Windows PC experience including MS Excel and EMR systems
• 2+ years ICD-10 and CPT coding with a focus in Palliative Care

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes per documentation and guidelines for palliative care
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to services
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging and coding
• Generates coding queries for clarification of physician documentation
• Keeps up to date with coding changes and updates
• Manage significant workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• All other duties as assigned
