Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• AHIMA and/or AAPC professional coder credentialing (CPC, COC, CPC-P, CCS) renewed annually.
• 2+ years of experience with PCs in a Windows environment, including MS Excel and EMR systems.
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience with a focus in Palliative Care.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and guidelines for palliative care.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes to all services.
• Monitors work queues to ensure records are charged/coded timely.
• Generates coding queries for documentation clarification.
• Keeps up-to-date with coding changes and updates.
• Manage workload efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision.
• All other duties as assigned.
