Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional P&C underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting major segments including personal lines, commercial property, and professional liability.
• Understanding of the underwriting lifecycle from submission to nonrenewal.
• Ability to explain how account characteristics and market conditions affect decisions.
• Strong written reasoning, risk judgment, and attention to detail.
• Ability to separate underwriting decisions from claims handling and brokerage advice.

Responsibilities

• Design underwriting scenarios for new business, renewals, exposure analysis, and risk-improvement needs.
• Create underwriting assessments, quote rationales, and declination explanations.
• Write reference responses to guide AI model outputs at experienced underwriter level.
• Grade AI outputs against rubrics for technical accuracy and guideline adherence.
• Identify unsupported assumptions and inappropriate acceptance/declination in AI outputs.
• Provide feedback to the research team to improve model behavior.
