Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Coder - Outpatient to perform thorough medical record reviews and abstract data for ICD-10-CM/CPT coding. You will contribute to reducing unbilled days and support cash flow.

Qualifications

• Reviews and interprets medical information and assigns ICD-10-CM/CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstracts data elements to satisfy statistical requests and enters coded information into systems.
• Keeps informed of ICD-10-CM/CPT updates by training and reviewing resources.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical information to determine correct ICD-10-CM/CPT codes.
• Abstract data elements for statistical requests and enter into systems.
• Ensure efficient cash flow by managing unbilled coding reports.
• Stay updated on ICD-10-CM/CPT changes and apply them in daily work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
