Job summary

Ohio State University is seeking an Outpatient Coding Quality Analyst to audit ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding for accuracy, completeness, and compliance. You will validate codes using encoder systems and EHRs to support hospital reimbursement, research, and planning.

Remote work is available; you will collaborate with MIM leadership and education staff to address opportunities, provide timely feedback, and ensure adherence to coding guidelines and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• CAHIIM-approved coding certificate program or HIMT program.
• Familiarity with computer-assisted coding and automated encoder.
• 2-4 years of outpatient coding experience (ICD-10-CM and CPT) for outpatient services.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate outpatient coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance through audits.
• Review and resolve claim and coding edits and respond to CBO requests.
• Identify coding discrepancies and trends; provide feedback and follow-up reviews.
• Collaborate with coding leadership and education staff to address opportunities and strengthen practices.
