The Ohio State University is seeking an Outpatient Medical Coder 3 to join the Health System Shared Services team remotely. The role focuses on coding outpatient records with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4 codes, ensuring accurate abstraction and DRG/APR-DRG assignment for reimbursement.

The ideal candidate will hold an HIM degree, a recognized outpatient coding credential, and relevant experience in a health information management setting. Remote work with full-time hours is available.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Health Information Management or higher.
• CAHIIM/HIMT coding credential required.
• RHIT/RHIA/CCS/COC outpatient credential preferred.

Responsabilités

• Code inpatient and outpatient medical records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4.
• Determine principal and secondary diagnoses/procedures and abstract data.
• Review electronic medical records in IHIS for coding accuracy and DRG assignment.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards; participate in meetings and education sessions.
