Job summary

Rochester Regional Health - RRH (Parent) seeks a Coder - Outpatient to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for billing and reporting. The role emphasizes regulatory compliance and maximizing reimbursement through accurate coding.

You will work with the Coding/Clinical Documentation department, using Care Connect, UDS, and Clintegrity, and collaborate with physicians and quality staff to identify coding opportunities and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Certification options include CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, CMC, RHIT, RHIA, CPC-A, or a specialty coding certification.

Responsibilities

• Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA and adheres to official coding guidelines.
• Performs detailed review of inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Meets productivity guidelines with 95% accuracy.
• Uses Care Connect, UDS, and Clintegrity to obtain ICD-10 codes and DRG assignment.
• Formulates compliant Physician Coding Queries when documentation is ambiguous or unclear.
• Corrects failed claim errors to billing edits and assists in reducing errors.
• Provides guidance to physicians and quality staff on clinical documentation and reimbursement issues.
