Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced ED/Ambulatory Surgical coder for Level III trauma facility to work 15-20 hours per week remotely. You will review medical records, assign accurate diagnoses and procedure codes, and ensure proper APC assignment with a focus on high accuracy.

The role supports continuing education and requires AHIMA or AAPC credentials. The position offers a flexible schedule and remote work from home, with a pay range of $20–$35 per hour.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in a hospital and/or coding consulting role.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentials required.
• Proficiency with ED/E/M leveling and injections/infusions is important.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
