Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to design broadband plant extensions, draft base plans, and manage multiple projects with accuracy. Remote work is possible for qualified candidates in listed states.

The role collaborates with Technical Operations, Construction, and Engineering to deliver design packets and lightpath circuits. Ideal candidates hold an AA degree with 5+ years of GIS/cable design experience, strong MS Office skills, and solid communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience.
• GIS software knowledge (ESRI/Schneider) per Cable One standards.
• Understanding of cable design.
• Familiarity with HFC and fiber symbols.
• Telecom outside plant experience preferred.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting.
• Read walkout information accurately.
• Update as-builts post-construction.
• Provide complete construction build packets with deliverables.
• Learn new software and adapt to new technology.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and lightpath circuits.
• Assess fiber availability and reinforcement needs.
• Design major plant upgrades.
• Perform plant undesigns and redesigns.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy.
• Support company values and initiatives.
