Job summary

Cable One is seeking an OSP Designer II to create broadband system designs efficiently while upholding company standards. The role involves CAD/GIS work, coordination with Technical Operations, Construction and Engineering, and ensuring timely delivery of design deliverables.

The candidate will read walkout information, manage multiple projects, and learn new software as technology evolves. Remote work is possible for qualified candidates within several states.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent and minimum five years related experience; outside plant design or GIS experience preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of GIS applications such as ESRI and Schneider design software following Cable One standards.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Responsibilities

• Design new and existing HFC plant extensions.
• Perform base drafting and read walkout information.
• Update as-builts as construction progresses.
• Provide complete construction build packet with full design deliverables.
• Create fiber splicing matrices and Lightpath circuits.
• Ensure fiber availability and reinforcement requirements.
• Design major plant upgrades and perform undesigns/redesigns.
