Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a skilled CPC coder to join the remote team handling Orthopedics and podiatry coding. You will assign CPT/ICD-10 codes, monitor queues, and generate queries to ensure compliant and timely billing.

The role requires CPC certification, 5+ years of pro-fee coding experience in orthopedics/podiatry, and familiarity with Medicare guidelines. Epic experience and denials handling are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPC certification required with AHIMA and/or AAPC credentials.
• 5+ years of pro-fee coding experience in orthopedics and podiatry.
• Knowledge of Medicare guidelines and modifier application.
• Experience with Epic and handling denials.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate diagnostic and procedure codes per clinical docs and guidelines for outpatient hospital professional accounts.
• Assigns CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely coding and charging of records.
• Generates coding queries when physician documentation needs clarification.
• Keeps up to date with coding changes and updates.
• Manage workload and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
