Job summary

The Center for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics is seeking a Phone Center Scheduler for a full-time position in Chattanooga, TN. You will handle incoming calls, schedule and adjust appointments, verify insurance, and coordinate with nurses and providers to keep the schedule running smoothly.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and experience with medical information management; familiarity with medical terminology and legal aspects is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in information management in a medical office preferred.
• Program of study in medical terminology and legal aspects of medical information management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments for patients.
• Verify patient insurance and eligibility.
• Call patients to schedule appointments based on referrals from providers.
• Reschedule appointments as needed and handle emails from nurses’ staff.
• Maintain cross-coverage for team and adapt to provider preferences.
