Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/equivalent is required.
• One to four (1-4) years physician coding experience is preferred.
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P/CCA certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract information from clinical documentation and assign CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS codes and modifiers.
• Review and resolve coding denials.
• Complete coding sessions in assigned work queues.
• Ensure documentation meets EM Guidelines and CMS Teaching Physician Rules before billing.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and security standards.
