Job summary

FoodChain ID is seeking a Staff Inspector (Organic Certifiers) to inspect operations seeking USDA organic certification. The role involves scheduling, conducting field and remote desk audits, sample collection, and reporting findings in OC documents.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, with a willingness to travel. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 2,000 hours of inspection experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 2,000 hours (1 year) of inspection experience relevant to scope and complexity of operations to inspect

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with producers/handlers to schedule inspections within a timeframe.
• Conduct field/facility inspections following NOP standards and OC policies.
• Collect samples and ship to laboratories for testing.
• Interview personnel, review records, and document findings.
• Maintain required OC documents and meet due dates.
• Perform unannounced inspections as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor and clients regularly.
• Attend trainings and stay updated on NOP changes.
