Job summary

Venon Solutions LLC is seeking a seasoned Database Administrator to join a U.S.-based pharmaceutical client. The role focuses on Oracle databases in production, strong SQL skills, and migrations/ETL work.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in production support, experience with Oracle 12c–19c, and familiarity with PostgreSQL and MongoDB. This 100% remote contract offers long-term engagement and EST working hours, with English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Advanced English level B2 (Upper-Intermediate) or C1 (Advanced).
• Native Spanish or Portuguese language.
• 3+ years of professional experience as an Oracle Database Administrator with production support.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language).
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle Database 12c–19c.
• Experience with Oracle database upgrades (12c to 19c).
• Strong experience in database performance tuning (SQL queries, indexes, server/database configuration).
• Experience with data migration and ETL processes.
• Knowledge or hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL/Postgres SQL.
• Knowledge or hands‑on experience with MongoDB.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently in distributed international environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day production support and administration of Oracle databases.
• Monitor database health, availability, performance, and capacity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database‑related incidents and production issues.
• Perform database performance tuning, including optimization of SQL queries, indexes, and server configuration.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, database objects, and structures.
• Participate in Oracle database upgrades, migrations, and related technical projects.
• Support data migration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB environments as needed.
• Collaborate with developers, infrastructure teams, and other technical stakeholders to identify and resolve database issues.
• Follow established procedures and best practices for database security, reliability, backup, recovery, and change management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of database environments and operational processes.
