GovCIO is hiring a Senior Oracle DBA to provide expert-level database administration across enterprise Oracle environments. Located in Washington, D.C., the role will be remote, offering support for performance, availability, security, and reliability of mission-critical Oracle systems.

The Senior Oracle DBA will serve as a SME across Oracle technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior DBAs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 8 years Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.
Expertise across SQL, PL/SQL, RMAN, Grid/RAC, and multiple databases.
Strong scripting ability with Bash and PowerShell, plus SQL scripting.

Responsibilities

Architect, install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases including Grid Infrastructure, RAC, ASM, and standalone instances.
Implement and manage Oracle RMAN backup and recovery strategies.
Develop and optimize PL/SQL packages, procedures, triggers, and functions.
Oversee HA/DR environments such as Data Guard and replication technologies.
Perform migrations, upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
Troubleshoot complex database issues across prod and non-prod environments.
Participate in capacity planning, data modeling, and application support.
Ensure security compliance, access control, auditing, and hardening.
Mentor junior DBAs and deliver technical runbooks and status reports.
