Job summary

Mount Indie is seeking a highly experienced Oracle OCI Database Administrator to provision, administer, optimize, and support Oracle databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The role covers 19c/23c, CDB/PDB, migration, high availability, and DR, and is fully remote.

The candidate will work with distributed teams to support mission-critical workloads, implement automation, and maintain documentation and runbooks for cloud-based database environments.

Qualifications

• 7 years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security ).
• Active SECRET clearance
• 2–3 years of hands-on OCI experience
• Experience supporting production, mission-critical workloads
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database 19c/23c and multitenant CDB/PDB architecture
• Working knowledge of OCI VCNs, subnets, IAM, compartments, storage, and security
• Ability to operate independently in cloud-native environments
• Ability to diagnose complex issues across database, compute, storage, and network layers
• Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provision and administer Oracle databases on OCI DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Service, and Autonomous Database platforms, including ATP and ADW.
• Manage CDB/PDB environments, including cloning, patching, upgrades, and resource management.
• Design and implement RMAN backup/recovery and Data Guard configurations with cross-region DR.
• Plan and execute high-availability solutions in OCI.
• Perform performance analysis using AWR/ASH and SQL tuning.
• Automate database and cloud tasks using Terraform, OCI CLI, Bash, or Python.
