Job summary

RegEd, a leading RegTech provider, is seeking a Database Administrator to manage operational databases, ensure data integrity, and optimize performance across on‑premise and cloud environments. You will own incidents, implement security controls, and partner with Architecture and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of database administration, development, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Strong T-SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, transaction management, error handling, and dynamic SQL.
• Working knowledge of database backup, recovery, and HADR concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL MI, Azure SQL DB, or Azure SQL on VMs.
• Experience with database security administration such as user management, roles, and access controls.
• Ability to build and maintain SQL scripts, indexes, and complex queries for data analysis and operational use.
• Strong understanding of OLTP databases and practices.
• Familiarity with SSMS, Grafana, or similar tools.
• Experience with SSIS or other ETL tooling; SSRS or reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field; related work experience can substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and application database services; own incidents and requests; monitor backups and maintenance jobs.
• Support performance and security requirements across environments.
• Monitor daily database health, respond to alerts, and collaborate with teams on recurring problems.
• Design, create, and maintain database objects (indexes, views, procedures) for on‑premise and cloud environments.
• Perform backup verification and support restore testing; manage security and access controls.
• Assist in building monitoring infrastructure for alerts and performance metrics.
• Evaluate and implement database changes; align with architecture standards and best practices.
• Plan feasibility and effort estimates for new or revised database systems.
