IDEX Corporation in West Henrietta, NY is seeking an Optical Design Engineer for Semicon Metrology and Inspection. You will apply optical design, tolerance analysis, and customer collaboration to deliver manufacturable solutions that meet challenging specifications.

The role requires Zemax OpticStudio proficiency, 3D optical modeling, and cross‑functional teamwork with engineering, sales, and QA. Some travel to meet customers and industry events is expected.

Competenze

• B.S./M.S. in optics-related engineering with relevant experience.
• 2+ years of lens design and optical tolerance analysis; Monte Carlo analysis desirable.
• Experience with Zemax OpticStudio and optical modeling required.
• Strong communication and ability to travel up to 25%.
• Knowledge of aberration theory and optical metrology techniques.

Mansioni

• Lead customer meetings to understand needs and define optical solutions.
• Model and optimize 3D optical systems; develop components specs and drawings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, sales, QA) to finalize designs.
• Conduct tolerance analyses and prepare documentation for procurement and fabrication.
• Represent IDEX at industry events and customer sites as needed.
