Job summary

IDEX Health & Science, LLC is seeking an Optical Engineer for Semicon Metrology and Inspection. You will lead customer meetings, translate needs into optical designs, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and supply chain to deliver solutions.

The role requires a strong optics background, proficiency in Zemax, and experience with tolerance analysis. Travel is <25% as needed for customer meetings and industry events.

Qualifications

• BS in optics-related engineering or MS in a related field with experience.
• 2+ years in lens design and optical tolerance analysis.
• Experience with spherical and aspheric components.
• Ability to document tests and results clearly.
• Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer meetings to understand needs and articulate IDEX solutions.
• Develop optical designs and tolerances to meet specs with manufacturability.
• Model 3D optical systems and perform optical simulations.
• Prepare component specs, drawings, and procurement docs.
• Collaborate with opto-mechanical and CAD teams on tooling and mounting.
• Support R&D prototypes and production processes with experiments.
