Job summary

Prism Vision Group in the United States seeks a remote Virtual Clinical Assistant to support a busy ophthalmology practice, focusing on General Ophthalmology and Retina. You will perform real-time medical scribing, document HPI, exam findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans, enabling providers to maintain high-quality patient care.

This full-time remote role requires 3+ years in ophthalmology documentation or scribing, strong English typing, HIPAA compliance, and a reliable home office setup.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in General Ophthalmology and/or Retina
• Experience supporting ophthalmologists/retina through medical scribing or virtual clinical assistance
• Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology, diagnoses, imaging and CPT coding
• Proficient in using EHR/EMR systems and real-time documentation

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time medical scribing during patient encounters, capturing HPI, ROS, exam findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans for provider focus.
• Document ophthalmic diagnostic testing, imaging findings, injections, laser procedures, surgical planning in the EHR.
• Maintain complete, accurate medical records and ensure documentation meets quality standards.
• Prepare visit summaries and finalize charts promptly to support efficient workflows.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare team via secure messaging to coordinate workflows.
• Uphold HIPAA compliance and safeguard PHI in all documentation and communications.
• Perform additional administrative or clinical support tasks as assigned.
