Job summary

AVP•SEES Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to document physician-patient encounters in real time, enabling physicians to focus on patient care. The role requires ophthalmic terminology knowledge, exam procedures, and EHR proficiency.

You will document patient history, findings, assessments, and plans, ensure accurate records, and process orders while supporting efficient clinic operations and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• 1 year ophthalmic or scribe experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient history, exam findings, assessments, and treatment plans as dictated by the physician.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of medical records per compliance standards.
• Input orders for diagnostic tests, prescriptions, and follow-up care as directed by the physician.
• Maintain knowledge of medical coding and documentation requirements to optimize billing accuracy.
• Assist with patient flow by preparing exam rooms and gathering necessary information.
• Provide clerical support such as printing prescriptions and referral documents.
• Communicate effectively with technicians, front desk staff, and physicians to maintain clinic operations.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
