Job summary

IKS Health is hiring a Full Time Profee & Facility Ophthalmology Medical Coder. Responsibilities include coding and abstracting ophthalmology records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT, ensuring correct DRG assignment, and maintaining coding credentials.

Remote work environment with ongoing education and team collaboration. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of related coding experience, CPC/COC/CIC/CCA/CCS/CCS-P or RHIT/RHIA credentials, and strong proficiency in Epic, 3M, and CPT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Certification bundle CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum 3 years of related coding experience.
• Ability to code Clinic E&M and CPTs.
• Experience coding both Profee-PB and Facility -HB, Ophthalmology charts.
• Epic and 3M/360 experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPS and CPT coding guidelines and regulations.
• Must pass coding proficiency test and maintain credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide coding and abstracting for physician and facility records using ICD-10-CM, CPS, and CPT.
• Assign diagnoses and procedures after review of medical records.
• Review records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures.
• Determine principal diagnosis, principal procedure, and other items per UHDDS.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignment and real-time chart entry during shifts.
• Clarify documentation with physicians as needed using client guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings and training; share knowledge with peers.
• Maintain current knowledge of Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and Official Guidelines.
