Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Associate Software Developer to advance retinal health research by building and integrating ophthalmology data systems. You will work with complex clinical and imaging datasets, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop scalable data models and efficient pipelines.

The role is primarily remote within the United States, with travel ~15% for meetings and conferences. Candidates should have a Master’s in a related field and 3+ years in research or data

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Vision, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years in research settings, preparing data for studies, or similar roles.
• Experience with ophthalmology EMR, imaging, and data management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data models and datasets for retinal research and clinical applications.
• Extract and integrate clinical and imaging data from APIs, proprietary formats, and standard images.
• Test data validity for statistical modeling, machine learning, and computer vision applications.
• Collaborate with clinical researchers, data scientists, and product teams to prepare datasets for studies and real-world evidence projects.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for clinical datasets and ensure data security and privacy.
• Build data pipelines in AWS, parsing ophthalmology images, linking records, and processing PHI.
• Create RPA applications to automate repetitive tasks and improve data processing efficiency.
• Perform advanced statistical analyses on ophthalmic datasets including segmentation and lesion detection.
