Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Associate Software Developer to work on retinal data and imaging, with 100% telecommuting allowed across the U.S. You will build datasets, validate models, and integrate clinical data from diverse sources to support RetinaOS products.

The role requires advanced Python, SQL, and cloud experience, plus collaboration with researchers and IT teams to deliver scalable data solutions for ophthalmology data sets.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Vision, Computer Science, or related field and three years of experience in a research setting.
• Experience with retina/ophthalmology imaging data modeling and statistical/computer vision models for retinal data.
• Proficiency in Python, data science, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with medical images and EMR/databases in ophthalmology.
• Ability to write performant SQL queries and optimize data pipelines for PHI handling.
• Experience building data science pipelines for parsing ophthalmology images in AWS.

Responsibilities

• Wrangle retinal clinical and administrative data to build datasets and models.
• Test dataset validity for data modeling efforts using statistical methods.
• Extract and integrate clinical datasets from APIs, files, and imaging formats.
• Develop data models for RetinaOS products and support clinical integrations.
• Collaborate with teams to prepare retinal datasets for research and real‑world evidence.
• Monitor and refine system improvements to increase efficiency.
