Job summary

Social Movement Technologies is seeking a detail-focused operations contributor for a fully remote, 20 hours/week role. Start between 7am and 9am EST and work the next 4 hours daily, with some flexibility for overlap.

You’ll support internal systems, tools, and project management while helping teams run smoothly. The role emphasizes attention to detail, copyediting, and a love for building justice movements.

Qualifications

• Excellent team communication and deadline-driven.
• Ability to multitask across projects and communicate reliably.
• Strong attention to detail in copyediting and proofreading.
• Movement-focused volunteer or professional experience helps.
• Experience with Black/brown-led groups is valued.
• Friendly, encouraging communication via email, video, and phone.
• Eager to learn new tools and stay updated on tech developments.
• Reliable scheduling and long-term interest in the role.
• Project management experience and ability to manage a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage SMT's emailing calendar and ensure emails go out error-free.
• Coordinate translation for emails with a translation team.
• Run payroll, payments, billing, and invoicing.
• Respond to questions from trainees and others.
• Post social media content provided to you.
• Manage team tasks in a project tool and keep team on track.
• Collect periodic metrics to gauge results.
