Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking an Operations Manager, Government Grants to coordinate government grant activities across the lifecycle. This full-time, grant-funded role offers a flexible, home-based location and alignment with federal requirements.

Reporting to the National Government Funding Director, you will support PIs and teams, manage budgets, and ensure proper documentation and compliance. The role emphasizes collaboration across Finance, HR, and OFP."

Qualifications

• Three or more years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of financial systems, journal entries, and expense management.
• Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and NIH policies.
• Familiarity with federal grantors such as CDC, HRSA, NIH.
• Experience in project management complying with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Expense review: ensure expenses and invoices are accurate, approved, and submitted.
• Manage prior approval requests and compliance with award terms.
• Budget planning and monitoring to align resources with funding needs.
• Coordinate personnel and compensation documentation with Finance/HR/OFP.
• Coordinate subrecipient and contractor documentation and tracking.
• Draft responses, maintain project logs, and track milestones and reporting.
• Assist with cost transfers and expense reallocations with approvals.
• Maintain audit-ready project files and support closeout.
