Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an experienced field service leader to manage on-site GIS installation, testing, and commissioning across the United States.

You will supervise field teams, coordinate with customers and subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on high voltage projects (69kV–550kV). The role requires 10+ years in field service or construction management, HV equipment experience, and travel up to 90%.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in field service or construction management, preferably with substation/high voltage equipment.
• Technical certificate or associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical or mechanical field.
• Experience supervising erection and testing activities for high voltage substations and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for working in energized substations.
• Ability to travel 80–90% to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate on-site GIS field installation, testing, and commissioning (69kV–550kV).
• Serve as Hitachi Energy’s on-site representative to customers, subcontractors, inspectors, and stakeholders.
• Supervise field teams and subcontractors to ensure quality, productivity, schedule, and safety.
• Oversee adherence to drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Conduct field testing and document results (SF6, gas analysis, timing, power factor, contact resistance).
• Coordinate on-site progress meetings and daily field activities.
• Prepare clear field documentation, reports, and project records.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
