Job summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking a Medical Coder to ensure accurate coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM) and timely billing in a regulated oncology environment.

Responsibilities include applying payer guidelines, navigating EMR systems (Centricity/OncoEMR), and maintaining compliance with organizational policies. This role supports our multi-site network and patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Certifications/Licenses: CPC, CPC-A, CCS, or CCS-P required.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional fee coding experience in medical oncology, radiation oncology, or multispecialty coding preferred.
• Experience with navigation of EMR and practice management software preferred (Centricity and OncoEMR).
• Previous billing and collections experience with government and third‑party payers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all services are assigned with the correct CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes and billed in a timely manner.
• Process coding and billing in accordance with government and third‑party payer guidelines.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of role, applicable regulations, and organizational policies; performs other duties as assigned.
