Job summary

The US Oncology Network’s Affiliated Oncologists team is hiring a Medical Coding Specialist in Orland Park, IL to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for services across a multispecialty oncology practice, with emphasis on gynecologic oncology surgical coding and infusion service billing.

You will collaborate with clinical and billing staff to ensure accurate documentation and optimal reimbursement while maintaining patient confidentiality within the Central Billing Office environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current coding certification CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years of coding experience in surgery/oncology.
• Experience coding in oncology or surgical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts clinical data to assign ICD/CPT codes per guidelines.
• Identify principal/secondary diagnoses with accuracy.
• Code with QA-verified accuracy
• Record diagnostic procedures with appropriate codes.
• Request diagnoses from physicians when missing.
• Update coding procedures and guidelines.
• Collaborate with billing and clinical teams.
