Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Data Abstractor to support its tumor registry. You will abstract, analyze, and report data, ensuring accurate case reporting and timely follow-up on oncology patients.

The role requires ODS certification, a high school diploma, and 2 years of registry experience or 3–5 years in healthcare. EPIC EMR and cancer registry software familiarity are preferred.

Competenze

• ODS certification is required.
• A high school diploma is required.
• 2 years experience in clinical data abstraction and coding; or 3–5 years in healthcare.
• Knowledge of ICD-O, anatomy, physiology, SEER, AJCC, and cancer registry concepts.
• EPIC EMR experience and oncology tumor registry systems are preferred.

Mansioni

• Case Finding: analyze medical records daily to determine eligibility for case reporting.
• Abstracting: apply coding knowledge and assign codes for diagnosis, procedures, and outcomes.
• Treatment collection/follow-up: obtain recurrence and treatment data annually and update records.
• Participation in professional organizations and continuing education activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
