Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services is seeking an Oncology Data Abstraction Specialist to perform daily cancer case abstraction for registry databases. The role requires handling edits before submission to state registries and NCDB, ensuring data quality and adherence to CoC and state standards.

Responsibilities include case finding, follow-up, and maintaining documentation, while complying with HIPAA and Omega policies.

Qualifications

• Three years of oncology data abstracting experience, with recent activity preferred.
• RHIA/RHIT credentials preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with oncology data standards and registry coding.
• Experience with Metriq and Epic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily abstraction of cancer cases into the cancer registry database.
• Run and resolve edits prior to submission to the State Central Registry and NCDB.
• Submit cases to the State Central Registry when required.
• Process case finding, follow-up, and other registry duties.
• Maintain the suspense system and document abstraction activity.
• Adhere to HIPAA and internal compliance policies.
