Job summary

Jobtailor in Chicago provides IT support services to nationwide clients. The role combines remote support with on-site visits 2–3 days per week, assisting users and IT staff with Windows Server, Exchange, virtualization, SAN, networking and security issues.

You will escalate complex problems, perform Root Cause Analysis, and collaborate with vendors and team members to resolve issues while contributing to internal projects to grow the Support Practice Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or minimum 3 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Very organized and detail oriented with high accuracy and follow up
• Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
• Experience supporting Windows Server and Exchange infrastructure preferred
• Experience with server and network administration, software deployment and MS Office
• Document management experience preferred but not mandatory
• Some combined industry experience with Windows desktops
• Virtualization and storage experience strongly preferred
• MCSE and/or related technical certifications strongly preferred
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Responsibilities

• Provide remote support to geographically diverse nationwide clients using industry-standard remote connections, ticketing system, monitoring consoles and more
• Provide on-site assistance to clients 2–3 days per week
• Assist client end users and IT staff with computer application problems, server issues, virtualization, SAN, networking and security issues
• Escalate issues and interact with third-party vendors and team members to help manage resolution of complex client issues
• Initiate and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on complex client issues for one-time resolution
• Contribute to special internal-facing projects to facilitate growth of the Support Practice Group
• Provide regional local on-site client support as necessary
• Report to a Team Leader and collaborate with co-workers, senior technical staff and other support staff
