Job summary

Camfil is seeking a skilled OEM Service Technician to service and troubleshoot dust collection systems across North America. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment, generate detailed service reports, and advise customers on best maintenance practices and potential upgrades.

This remote role requires extensive travel, strong knowledge of airflow, and the ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Technology (or equivalent experience).
3–7+ years of hands-on industrial service experience, preferably in: Dust collection systems. Industrial and/or process equipment.
Experience with fans, filtration systems, and industrial ventilation strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of airflow systems, including CFM, static pressure, and duct design.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and instrumentation is a plus.
Proficient with standard hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform on-site inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of dust collection systems including fans, spark arrestors, and control panels for OEM customers.
Diagnose airflow, pressure drop, and system performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct on-site system audits and provide detailed service reports with actionable recommendations.
Clear ability to communicate and interact with customers, producing detailed service reports, warranty service and/or parts quotes.
Execute preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and filter life.
Replace filters, valves, instrumentation, and mechanical components as required.
Optimize system performance based on airflow (CFM), static pressure, and dust loading conditions.
Identify opportunities for system upgrades, retrofits, and energy efficiency improvements.
Interface directly with customer maintenance teams, operators, and engineering groups.
Provide on-site training for customer personnel on system operation and maintenance best practices.
Promote aftermarket parts, upgrades, and service offerings to support long-term reliability.
Act as an on-site trusted advisor, identifying future project opportunities to OEM sales team.
Adhere to all site safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Conduct work in compliance with lockout/tagout, and fall protection standards.
Promote a strong safety culture both internally and at customer sites.
Complete detailed service reports, including system condition, recommendations, and parts required.
Maintain accurate records of service activities, expenses, and time reporting.
Support engineering teams with field data for continuous product improvement.
