Job summary

UrgenCare LLC is seeking an Occupational Health Medical Assistant to support our occupational health services. Under direct supervision, you will assist with patient assessment and triage, administer medications, perform clinical testing, and help maintain a compliant, safe clinical environment.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED with six months of related experience, BLS certification, and solid knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, the Occupational Health Medical Assistant will join our esteemed organization in a highly professional manner. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing comprehensive occupational health services, including patient assessment and triage, medication administration, medical testing, workers’ compensation case management, clinical documentation, equipment calibration, and maintaining a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment. This position requires a compassionate professional who can perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties with accuracy and efficiency. As a vital part of our team, the Occupational Health Medical Assistant will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for patients while supporting medical procedures and facilitating smooth clinical operations for the Occupational Health Department. Job Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for medical examinations and procedures.
• Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
• Assist Providers with tasks during patient visits.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens as instructed.
• Perform breath alcohol testing (BAT), audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing (PFT) and vision screenings.
• Administer medications and injections under the supervision of Clinical Lead and/or Educational Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation.
• Calibrate and maintain clinical testing equipment, including PFT and BAT equipment, according to established standards and schedules.
• Maintain accurate equipment calibration records and required logs.
• Remain current on all required training, certifications, policies, and occupational health standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and properly equipped examination rooms.
• Ensure clinical supplies and equipment are available and ready for use.
• Maintain workstation and examination areas in a manner consistent with OSHA standards.
• Support workers’ compensation case management, including injury follow-up, documentation, communication, and coordination of care.
• Exhibits a high degree of courtesy and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Performs other related duties assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED AND six months of related experience in a occupational health setting. Must obtain and maintain BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Occupational Health experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong charting/documentation skills.
• Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment.
• Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Frequently required to walk, sit, and stand.
• Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
• Occasionally required to travel for training purposes and attend at least two community clinic events each year.
