Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an Observability Engineer to design and operate metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting platforms across cloud environments. Remote within the U.S., the role focuses on usability, signal quality, and operational ROI.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and at least one major commercial observability suite; strong Linux, networking, and container skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering, or observability roles.
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog/New Relic/Splunk.
• Strong OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and structured logging knowledge.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with high-cardinality, high-throughput metrics and log pipelines.
• Knowledge of SLOs, error budgets, and SRE principles.
• Experience integrating observability with CI/CD and incident tooling.
• Solid Linux internals, networking, and container platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting platforms.
• Manage the full observability stack from collection to storage, dashboards and alerts.
• Ensure usability, signal quality, and ROI for observability efforts.
• Translate telemetry into actionable insights for engineers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with SRE, development, and DevOps teams to improve systems.
