Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Site Observability Engineer to design and operate the observability stack across metrics, logs, and traces. This remote role emphasizes usable dashboards, high signal quality, and cost-aware operations for enterprise-scale systems.

You will implement OpenTelemetry adoption, define SLOs/SLIs, and collaborate with SRE and platform teams to integrate observability into CI/CD and incident response workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in SRE, platform engineering or observability.
• Hands-on Prometheus, Grafana and Datadog or Splunk.
• Strong OpenTelemetry, tracing, and logging.
• Go, Python or Java proficiency.
• Experience with high-cardinality metrics and logs pipelines.
• CI/CD and incident management tooling integration.
• Linux, networking and container platforms knowledge.
• Excellent communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate enterprise-grade observability platforms.
• Architect Prometheus/Thanos/Mimir, Grafana, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog deployments.
• Develop standards for service instrumentation with OpenTelemetry.
• Define and enforce SLOs/SLIs and build dashboards/alerts.
• Build alerting strategies that reduce noise and fit on-call workflows.
• Operate large-scale time-series and log storage platforms.
• Design distributed tracing pipelines for latency diagnostics.
• Develop self-service tooling and templates for observability adoption.
• Drive cost management and labeling discipline across observability estate.
• Lead incident response improvements through dashboards and runbooks.
• Partner with SRE and platform teams to integrate observability into pipelines.
• Evaluate observability vendors and open-source tools.
• Mentor teams on observability fundamentals and post-incident analysis.
