Job summary
State of North Carolina is seeking a Facility Compliance Consultant I (Nursing Home Surveyor) to perform regulatory inspections of nursing homes and investigate complaints. The role involves frequent site visits, travel across counties, and occasional after-hours work, with a strong emphasis on meeting state and federal requirements.
The position is home‑based with substantial on-site inspections and is funded through federal funds, offering full remote work eligibility and comprehensive state
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health, human service, or educational field with three years’ related surveying/administration experience.
- Master’s degree in social work with related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or food service management with related surveying experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite nursing home inspections for routine surveys and complaints.
- Review and document facility operations and care practices.
- Prepare survey reports and statements of deficiency with findings.
- Apply regulatory criteria to ensure consistent assessments.
- Coordinate inspection schedules across counties, including weekends or nights.
- Travel to nursing homes as needed, including overnight stays.
- Communicate inspection expectations and outcomes to facility representatives.
