Job summary

The Nurse Consultant I role with Health & Human Services (North Carolina) conducts licensure and certification surveys for acute and home care providers. The position is home‑based in the Central/Eastern Region with travel across counties and overnight stays as needed.

You will review documentation, inspect facilities, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Ideal candidates are licensed RNs with strong knowledge of state/federal rules, experience in survey processes, and

Qualifications

• Experience applying State and Federal rules for acute care facilities.
• Hands-on management of medical records, diagnostics and lab services.
• Proficiency with Windows and basic MS Office for regulatory reports.
• Familiarity with operational and clinical practices in acute care facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct licensure and certification onsite surveys for acute care hospitals and other provider types.
• Review facility documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Inspect hospitals and clinics for regulatory adherence.
• Evaluate ESRD providers and dialysis centers using compliance criteria.
• Assess rural health clinics and outpatient rehabilitation facilities for conformity.
• Examine medical records, pharmacy, labs and related clinical support functions.
• Document findings and coordinate survey activities within the region.
